We tried to watch a youtube clip today but it was stopping and starting so they might not have got a clear understanding today. Here is the link if you want to view it with your children.

Here is another one which shows a girl going to Rite 1 Reconciliation. We didn’t show this to the kids as the internet was playing up and we were out of time but it might be worth a watch.

Something to keep in mind is that for Rite 2 Reconciliation it is best to think of 2-3 things to confess, using the Examination of Conscience as a guide. Encourage your kids not to tell a long story but keep it short. The girl in the clip says she is sorry for being selfish with her siblings, not a big story about the details of what happened. They might also want to spend some time thinking about what they can do to make up for doing wrong, their Penance.
