Through our anointing with the sacred chrism, Confirmation strengthens and “confirms” us in the grace of our Baptism, uniting “us more firmly to Christ.”

The sacrament of Confirmation is the second sacrament of Initiation and focuses on the Holy Spirit.  The 7 gifts and the 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit are received.  When you are confirmed you chose a confirmation name, usually a Saint who is a good role model for you.  You also chose a sponsor to support you at your confirmation.
